George Sand Autograph Letter Signed "G. Sand." Two pages, 5" x 8" (sight), in French, on her personal embossed letterhead, n.p., n.d. [circa 1828]. Sent to an unknown recipient, the French author, George Sand, whose real name was Amantine-Lucile-Aurore Dupin, writes that she is "sending you the proofs of 'La Nuit d'hiver [Winter's Night].' I have finished 'Perrette', your short play, and will send it to you tomorrow. I cannot send you the photograph of the salon yet. The photographer brought me other things which I will send you together with the salon picture as soon as he has made a copy. As for the state of my health, I continue to be somewhat indisposed, but that will pass with patience. When will I see you again? Try to make it soon and love me always." Double matted with an engraved portrait of Sand and framed to an overall size of 23" x 14.5". From the Estate of Rod McKuen.

Condition: Smoothed folds; .75" tear near the lower left corner of page one, not affecting the text.
