    Christmas Card signed "Hemingstein"

Ernest Hemingway Autograph Note Signed "Hemingstein", on a Christmas Card. 11" x 7.75", folding down to 5.5" x 7.75". In full: "Dear Jim: Hope you're fine . Our very best to your wife. Remember this time of year a long time ago? Your old friend Hemingstein." "Jim" is Colonel James S. Luckett, whom he met in Europe during World War II. Luckett had been a member of Utah Beach (the code name for the right flank of the Allied landing forces on D-Day). The two men remained friends and continued to exchange letters, as is evidenced by the photostat copy of a TLS from Hemingway to Luckett dated January 18, 1961 (housed at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library). "Hemingstein" is one of several nicknames used by Hemingway, reserved for his closest friends, and is the scarcest variant of his signatures. Obtained directly from the family.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
