    Description

Alfred de Vigny Autograph Letter Signed "Alfred de Vigny." Two pages of a bifolium, 10.5" x 8.25", Paris; circa 1843. Addressed to Baron Taylor, former Royal Commissioner of the French Theatre and written in French. In the letter de Vigny recommends a young actor to Taylor, in part:

"...There comes to me a young actor who...appears to me in the position and in the costume of the Prodigal Son. He has a pretty face, he is very young and he would be easy for you, my dear Taylor, to have him begin somewhere and live until he starts working. See in your charity and your universality if you do not find him any resource...This poor boy is named Emile Giliotte and said himself that he comes from Brussels..."

Alfred Victor, Comte de Vigny (1797-1863) was a French poet and early leader of French Romanticism. He was also an admirer of William Shakespeare and aided in the production of translations of his works.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
