    Julian Hawthorne Typed Letter Signed. Two pages, 8.5" x 11", September 9, 1908, New York, on personal letterhead, to S. Merrill concerning his new ore mining business endeavor, which would land him in prison five years later. Both pages have completely separated at the mid-horizontal fold; otherwise, fine.


    Edwin Markham Autograph Letter Signed. One page (postcard), 3.25" x 5.5", January 26, 1908, Westerleigh Park, Staten Island, to "Mr. Corbett" of the Reliance Book Store, New York City, asking for help locating "an old book of verses by Henry S. Cornwell". Toned and fine.
