DescriptionAugustus Saint-Gaudens Autograph Letter Signed. One page of a bifolium, 5" x 8", [New York], August 6, 1892. Addressed to an unknown recipient, the American sculptor writes that he is "making repairs at 51 West 45th Street which may affect the insurance you have issued on that building. If you will send a representative to me at 148 W 36th [the location of his studio] at your earliest convenience I will give him the information you may need." Saint-Gaudens, best-known today for his monuments commemorating the Civil War, resided at 51 West 45th from 1893 until 1896.
Condition: Smoothed folds. Very light toning along the upper margin.
