DescriptionRichard Strauss Typed Letter Signed. One page, 8" x 10" (sight), in German, Garmisch [Bavaria, Germany], June 13, 1917. Written to an unknown recipient, the German composer writes that he has just returned from Switzerland to find the recipient's letter and that he hopes to be able to personally see his direction of Ariadne next winter. Matted with a photograph of the composer to an overall size of 19.5" x 15.5". From the Estate of Rod McKuen.
Condition: The text of the letter is faded making it difficult to read. Strauss' signature and two notations in the body of the letter, in black ink, remain bold. .25" tear at the right edge near the lower right corner.
