Hank Williams, Sr.: Signed Contract for "Never Again Will I Knock on Your Door" "Hank Williams". One page, 8.5" x 13", December 11, 1946, contract signed "Wesley Rose" as well, page headed "ROYALTY CONTRACT", ink. The contract is between Hank Williams and Acuff-Rose Publications of Nashville, Tennessee, and is a royalty agreement for sheet music, broadcasting, and any foreign royalties. Williams was regarded as the greatest country artist ever. Williams' smash hit, "Cold, Cold Heart," reached No. 1 on the country charts and later became a pop hit for Tony Bennett. The popularity of "I Heard You Crying in Your Sleep" and "Lovesick Blues" earned Williams a trip to perform at the Grand Ole Opry in 1949. Williams appeared regularly at the Opry and organized the Drifting Cowboys to tour, along with additional studio musicians, throughout the United States, Canada and Germany. "Why Don't You Love Me" and "Long Gone Lonesome Blues" were also No. 1 hits. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1961. Fine condition. Fabulous royalty contract for the song "Never Again Will I Knock on Your Door" by Hank Williams.
