DescriptionFranz Liszt Autograph Letter Signed. One page, 5" x 7.25" (sight), March 23, 1886, ink on paper. Five months before his death (July 31, 1886), Liszt writes to an unknown colleague that he will not be able to attend the rehearsals of the recipient's concert. He sends assurances that he will be present at the first half of the premier performance. Hastily written in French, with a few stray ink stains and flattened folds. Archivally framed with an image of the composer from his youth and a plaque to an overall size of 20" x 23.5".
