Camille Pissarro Autograph Letter Signed "C. Pissarro." One page, 8.25" x 10" (sight), on "Grand Hotel de Berneval" letterhead, [Berneval-le-Grand, France], July 12, 1900, to his son, Rodolphe. The Impressionist painter writes, in part: "...I hope from what you tell me of the colics you were suffering, it is not appendicitis. Your mother came yesterday and we looked at chalets and are still making our choice. Do not forget to tell me Dr. Simon's not worry about appendicitis, it would not be the same in your case as in Georges..." Pissarro, considered the "Father of the Impressionists," died three years later. Smoothed folds with slight staining above the date. Else fine. Matted and framed with a photograph of the artist and a plate with a short, engraved biography to an overall size of 25.5" x 26.5".

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
