Artist Raoul Dufy Autograph Letter Signed. Two pages, 8.25" x 10.5"; Perpignan; April 21, 1942. A letter addressed to "My Dear George" written in French and accompanied by a handwritten English translation. In part: "... I am always very grateful to friends who speak or have written about my works; but I have an extremely great reluctance to see myself in the mirror of writings and I do not hate to be criticized; I find all the complaints which have been made of me to be justified while I do not deserve all the compliments. This said and my modesty saved, I can tell you that I am well into my work again and I think I shall have quite an important exhibit this winter at Paris, God willing..." Signed "Raoul Dufy."

Condition: Flattened folds, with some wear thereat. Creasing at the margin at top right corner resulting in a tiny tear. Seven lines of text have been underlined in pencil. Dealer's code is written in pencil on verso at lower left corner. Touch of dampstaining affects a single word.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
