Blaine's relationship to certain unpleasant railroad transactions, 20 pages, 5.75" x 9", toned, else very good; a autograph letter signed "Adam Badeau", one page, 5" x 8", on Executive Mansion letterhead, Washington, December 24, 1869, in very good condition; an autograph letter signed "James Brooks", two pages, 5" x 8", on House of Representatives letterhead, Washington, June 29, 1870, toned with fold creases, else very good; Western Union telegram, 7.5" x 5.25", dated December 25, 1871, from member of the Russian Legation to his wife, toned, else very good; autograph letter signed "Wilson McCandless", two pages, 5" x 8", January 8, 1870, toned with fold creases, else very good; and an autograph letter signed "Samuel H. Perkins", one page, 8.25" x 10.75", Philadelphia, December 11, 1869, to Ulysses S. Grant, suggesting William Strong for a position on the Supreme Court, toned at the edges, a few splits in the creases, else very good. From the collection of Henry E. Luhrs.
