Apollo 8 "Earthrise" Photo Signed and Inscribed by Mission Commander Frank Borman to Lead Flight Director Clifford Charlesworth, Directly from the Lousma Family Collection. A 10" x 8" color glossy photo of the famous image, signed in the lunar surface area: "To Cliff-/ A great friend and the Finest Flight Director/ on that blue globe above. With appreciation./ Frank Borman". An amazing item from the commander of the first manned moon mission to the lead "Green Team" flight director back at Mission Control for that very flight. Excellent condition save for a couple of inconsequential flaws in the margin.

Clifford E. Charlesworth (1931-1991) was born in Redwing, Minnesota, and graduated in 1958 from Mississippi College with a degree in Physics. After a stint as a civilian scientist for the Navy, he joined NASA. He was a Flight Director from 1962 to 1970, directing several key Gemini and Apollo missions including Apollo 8 and the first lunar landing, Apollo 11. Later positions at NASA included Deputy Director of the Johnson Space Center and as Director of Space Operations.
