Annie Oakley: An Important Three-page Letter to Brother-in-law William Butler, Written Shortly Before her Death, Along with Envelope Bearing Full "Annie Oakley Butler" Signature in Return Address. Less than a month before she died, Annie dictated and signed this poignant letter to Will, addressing him "Dear Brother." She is unable to sit up in bed, yet she wants him to know that the crystal dish she sent as a housewarming gift "was one of my most highly prized pieces" and is able to advise him on its care: "never pour boiling water over it at any time." Her signature as Annie Oakley Butler is highly desirable and uncommon. Excellent condition. Envelope torn from opening, not affecting return address handwriting. 5" x 6.75". This lot will be accompanied by a family letter of provenance.
