    Andrew Johnson: Signed Military Commission. 15" x 17.5" [sight] printed & manuscript vellum document signed by "Andrew Johnson" as President and "Edwin M. Stanton" as Secretary of War. Washington, D.C., April 3, 1867. It appoints Eben Sturgis "Captain by Brevet". Blue paper seal. Inscriptions are faded, but signatures are fine. Housed with three commemorative medals and a First Day Cover. Matted and framed to an overall size of 20.5" x 26.25".
