    Anders Jonas Ångström Autograph Letter Signed "And. Jona Ångström". One page (of a bifolium), in French, 5.25" x 8.25", Uppsala; January 2, 1874. Writing to an unnamed correspondent, Ångström expresses [English translation], in part "the satisfaction which inspires me the honor of having received the votes of so many illustrious scientists becomes even greater by your kindness which makes me hope that my work in physics has succeeded in acquiring the approval of a physicist as eminent as you."

    Anders Jonas Ångström (1814-1874) was a Swedish physicist and one of the founders of the science of spectroscopy.

    Condition: Letter has the usual folds and shows minor creasing; otherwise very good.
