    Description

American Poet and Essayist Oliver Wendell Holmes Autograph Letter Signed. Signed "O.W. Holmes," two pages, 4" x 6", Boston, October 9, 1867. Written to J.R. Lowell, this letter reads, "My friend Mr. Kimball wishes to introduce to you the Rev. Newman Hall of Lauden, with whose faithful advocacy of our cause in the time of need, you much have heard of, and whose fame as an eloquent preacher and a hearty laborer in every good cause is in all the churches. Yours always..." Wendell is of course referring to the temperance movement, a movement which all of these men were very involved in. Holmes is best known for his patriotic poems and essays. The ALS is in very fine condition; usual folds are present; signature is bold and dark.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
