    Albert Einstein Typed Letter Signed. One page on his personal embossed letterhead, 7.25" x 8.25"; Princeton, New Jersey; December 27, 1951. A letter to Mrs. Arnold Bishop, sending news of his sister's death. In part, "Now I have to tell you that my dear sister died last June through an indirect consequence of her general condition. As much as I miss her I am glad that she has passed away before her mental faculties became too much impaired." The Bishops vacationed with Einstein in one of their friend's summer homes. Together with the original transmittal envelope.

    Condition: Lightly toned, with scattered foxing. The envelope has been neatly sliced open at top, with multiple pin holes. Heavy toning, and a bit of adhesive staining along top edge. Letter has usual mail folds and light creasing.
