DescriptionAlbert Einstein Typed Letter Signed "A. Einstein." One page, 8.5" x 11", on his personal embossed letterhead, Princeton [New Jersey], November 24, 1954. Addressed to Charles Hutchins Hapgood, Einstein writes, in full: "I have read your article with keen interest and find the whole presentation convincing and well documented. I agree also with the quotations from my letters. The only thing I doubt is whether the non-specialist will be able to follow your arguments somewhat completely." Fine.
Charles Hapgood (1904-1982), an American historian and college professor, was a subscriber to the pole shift theory, which states that rapid shifts in the positions of earth's poles leads to catastrophic events. Four years after receiving this letter from the great physicist, Hapgood published a book, The Earth's Shifting Crust, with a foreword written by Einstein. Later in life he worked with medium Elwood Babbitt and recorded Babbitt's "trance lectures" where he allegedly channeled such famous figures as Jesus of Nazareth, Mark Twain, Vishnu, and even Einstein himself.
