Albert Einstein Signature on a facsimile printing of a letter to Irma Levy Lindheim, former president of Hadassah. Einstein signs the souvenir printing titled "A Message from Prof. Albert Einstein to the Friends of Palestine" on the first page of the bifolium. The printing is framed along with a copy showing pages two and three, which contain Einstein's original handwritten letter (in facsimile) and a typed translation in English.
Before permanently immigrating to the United States, Einstein participated in several visiting professorships at various universities in the States. This letter was written during one such visit to Cal Tech. Einstein's message reads in part: "Of course, I gladly accept your invitation. I consider most necessary the formation of Leagues in this country for the Labor groups in Palestine. For the Labor group is not only the very soul of the upbuilding [sic] work, but it is the one real effective bridge between the Jews and Arabs."

After her tenure as president of Hadassah ended in 1928, Irma Levy Lindheim remained an active Zionist and frequently toured the U.S. on behalf of labor groups. Einstein was also Zionist albeit an unconventional one. In 1931, About Zionism: Speeches and Lectures by Professor Albert Einstein was published as a collection of various lectures given by Einstein concerning his thoughts on Zionism.

Matted and framed with a photo and map of Palestine to an overall size of 21.5" x 24". Smoothed crease through the center but in otherwise fine condition.
