Alan Bean's Signed Personal Bible as Presented to Him in 1971 by His Hometown Church, Originally from His Personal Collection. A leather bound Revised Standard Version reference edition Bible, (Camden, New Jersey: Thomas Nelson Inc, 1959), 7" x 10" overall, signed "Alan Bean" in gold on the front cover which is also gilt-stamped "Captain Alan L. Bean". Bean was born in Texas and graduated high school in Fort Worth at R. L. Paschal. The presentation page of this Bible notes in an unknown hand that it was presented to "Captain Alan L. Bean" by the "Methodist Mens Club/ Fort Worth, Texas/ Matthews Memorial United/ Methodist Church" on "October 6, 1971". Several of the personal records pages are filled in, likely by his wife Sue; one states that he and Sue Ragsdale were married in 1955 at Grace Methodist Church in Dallas. Others show the births of their children and her family history. This Bible was used by Alan during his days in the Space program. Excellent.
