    Abraham Lincoln Autograph Endorsement Signed on the verso of a letter to Charles Sumner about General Burham (three pages, 6.5" x 8", New York, February 9, 1863). Lincoln has written "Submitted to the Sec. of War. A. Lincoln Feb. 11, 1863". There is also an Autograph Endorsement Signed above the Lincoln by Charles Sumner: "I ask attentn to this letter of Prof. Martin of N.Y. on Genl. Burham. Charles Sumner". Benjamin N. Martin, a professor at New York University, wrote the original letter. Fine condition; multiple folds, an ink smear at the top of Sumner's note. From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.
