    Abraham Lincoln Appointment Signed "Abraham Lincoln" as president. One partially printed page, 15.5" x 9.75", Washington, D.C.; April 17, 1861, countersigned by William H. Seward as Secretary of State, appointing "Arthur B. Calef...Deputy Postmaster at Middletown, in the State of Connecticut." Blind embossed Seal of the United States in the lower left.

    Condition: Light, uneven toning, flattened folds with small separations, creasing around blind seal. Foxing at lower right quarter. Signature is bold and clear. Overall very fine.
