[Texas Annexation]. Printed Circular with Tilghman M. Tucker Autograph Letter Signed. Two pages of a bifolium, 7.75" x 9.75", Mississippi, March 13, 1842. This circular, titled "Resolutions to Congress, in Relation to the Annexation of Texas to the United States," was sent by the Mississippi Legislature to the state's representatives to the U.S. Congress, both House and Senate, requesting them to "use their best exertions to procure the annexation of Texas . . . and that the same constitute one or more sovereign States of this Union." On the integral blank, Mississippi Governor Tilghman M. Tucker has penned a one page letter to James D.
