    Description

[Revolutionary War]. General George Rogers Clark Document Signed. One page, 8.5" x 3.5", n. p., September 19, 1781 (found docketed on the verso). In July 1778, General George R. Clark (1752-1818) and nearly 200 men crossed the Ohio River and assaulted the village of Kaskaskia, launching the Illinois campaign. Kaskaskia was a multi-ethnic enclave composed of Indians and whites. The town fell to the Americans on July 4, 1778. Three years later, Clark issued this order, in full: "Issue a Bottle of Rum to the Kaskaskia Chief." A short notation just below Clark's signature reads, "Deld. 37 Pints Rum." Smoothed folds and uneven toning.

For his actions during the war, Clark, the older brother of William Clark of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, was called the "Conqueror of the Old Northwest."

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
