    Description

[Northwest Indian War]. William Henry Harrison Autograph Document Signed "Wm. H. Harrison A.d.C." One page, 7.5" x 4", "Head Quarters Greenville [Ohio]," May 31, 1794. Signed as aide-de-camp to General "Mad Anthony" Wayne during the ongoing Northwest Indian War, Lieutenant Harrison here orders "one quart of whiskey" sent to "the Music of the Legion." Docketed on the verso. Moderately foxed with mounting remnants on the verso. Heavy toning of the left edge.

Harrison fought in the Northwest Indian War under General Wayne and participated in the Battle of Fallen Timbers, the final battle of the war. Later, in August of 1795, he attended the signing of the Treaty of Greenville which ended the war. In 1840, Harrison was elected as the ninth president of the United States. Thirty-two days later, he became the first president to die in office -- a victim of the common cold. His tenure as president has the distinction of being the shortest of any president.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
