[Mother Teresa]. Lot of Twenty-Nine Messages and Prayers Signed. Written on small cards and spanning the years 1985 through 1997, the last of which is dated July 20, 1997, less than two months before her death. All but two of the cards are addressed to Mr. A. S. Aruldass. The majority of the cards are in thanks for contributions made to her Missionaries of Charity with messages such as, "Thank you for helping us to spread the fragrance of God's love amongst the poorest of the poor through your gift," and, "God love you and keep you for the love you share with His poor through your gift." Only two of the cards are not thanking him for gifts to the poor, one of which, dated January 19, 1991, finds her wishing Mr. Aruldass and his wife "...a long and happy married life." The cards show some age toning and spots of scattered staining, but are otherwise in fine condition. Held within a 7" x 8.5" photograph album.

The Macedonia-born Mother Teresa (1910-1997), Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, became an international icon for good works during her lifetime. Her half-century of ministering to the most unfortunate denizens of Calcutta won her world acclaim and a Nobel Peace Prize. She was beatified in 2003 and lacks recognition of one miracle before she is proclaimed a saint by the Roman Catholic Church.
