    Description

"Mercury Seven" 1959 NASA "Project Mercury" Publication Signed by All. An early four page B&W 8" x 10.5" brochure published by NASA at Langley Research Center, Langley Field, Virginia, dated April 1959 (the month the astronauts were selected); it is sub-titled "Research Providing Valuable Data For Manned Space Flight". Across the top of page one are small images of the newly-selected astronauts. Each astronaut has signed vertically to the right of his image, as follows: "Malcolm S. Carpenter", "Leroy G. Cooper, Jr", "John H. Glenn, Jr.", "Virgil I. Grissom", "Walter M. Schirra Jr.", "Alan B Shepard Jr.", and "D. K. Slayton". Fully illustrated topics covered include "Land, Water Drops Subjects of Study," "Tests Help Assure Safety of Flight," and "Parachute to Ease Capsule to Earth." A scarce publication with early-form autographs of the men with the "right stuff." About fine condition with some wear and two horizontal folds.
