[James Fannin], [Battle of Refugio], and [Goliad Campaign]. Philip Dimmitt Document Signed. Three pages, 8" x 12.5", County of Refugio; December 6 and 7, 1839. A filing for compensation for spoliation made by José Miguel Aldrete for property losses during the Goliad Campaign. The manuscript includes a list of property and values lost by Aldrete, which is followed by signed depositions including one by Dimmitt. The first item listed as lost is, "One house built with stone with outhouses and all its offices destroyed by Col Fannin value - $12,000.00." There are a total of 8 line items, and Aldrete signs statement attesting that all but number eight were destroyed by Fannin. The last item, a house in the Mission of Refugio, was destroyed by Amon Butler King and William Ward during the Battle of Refugio.

Dimmitt signs on the second page beneath his statement made on behalf of Aldrete: "that he is well acquainted with Mig Aldrete that he knows of his being the proprietor of all of the said real property... That the same was destroyed... That he believes it to have been destroyed by Fannin..."

Andrete's signed statement appears on the first page. José Miguel Andrete was one of the largest landowners in Refugio County. He was a member of Dimmitt's garrison at Goliad and was a signer of the Goliad Declaration of Independence. Andrete was a strong supporter of the Texas Revolution, often supplying the army with animals and other sundry.

There are a total of four depositions on the filing, all of which are sworn before James W. Robinson. Partial separations at folds, with some uneven toning.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
