[George Washington] Edmund Jenings Randolph Printed Congressional Act Signed as secretary of state. One page, 7.25" x 11.75", Philadelphia [Printed by Francis Childs], November 3, 1794. Issued by the "Third Congress of the United States: at the Second Session, Begun and held at the city of Philadelphia," and docketed on verso. This attractive document announces "An ACT for the remission of the tonnage duties on certain French vessels," and decrees that the "duties on the tonnage of sundry shallops and small schooners, lately employed to convey to Boston, a number of French citizens . . . are remitted."

A second act is included: "An ACT for the relief of Epaphras Jones and others," which orders "the collector for the district of New-York to remit to Epaphras Jones and others, the sum of two hundred and four dollars and forty seven cents, being the amount of additional impost and tonnage-duties incurred by reason of the incompetent register of the brigantine Peru." Signed in print twice by Frederick Augustus Muhlenberg as speaker of the House, by John Adams as vice president, and by George Washington as president. Signed in ink by Edmund Randolph as secretary of state. Moderate age-toning; some separation at folds with old repairs on verso.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
