[Frank James]. Lot of Two John Newman Edwards Autograph Letters Signed with a Frank James Autograph Note. The first letter is one page, 5.5" x 11", St. Joseph [Missouri], June 14, 1884, to Frank James informing him that he has written the bank on his behalf and has enclosed " a copy of what I wrote." The second, also one page, 5.5" x 11", St. Joseph, June 14, 1884, in the hand of John N. Edwards to F. M. Adams, cashier at the First National Bank of Denison, Texas, in part: "I know that in law I am cut out, but such were the peculiar circumstances of my case - cut off and in prison - that I thought perhaps you might make an exception in my favor." Edwards has signed the letter "Frank James."

    Also, a short list of names, 5" x 4", written in pencil and entirely in the hand of Frank James, giving the names of eleven men. With an envelope, addressed to Frank James and in the hand of John N. Edwards, with "Before Sun" written on the face in Frank James' hand. The letters show the usual folds with very light toning. List has chipped edges and small tears.
