[Early Aviation]. Amelia Earhart, Orville Wright, Glenn Martin, et al. Signed International Civil Aeronautics Conference Book. 8vo (oblong), 23 pages. Blue cloth over boards with silver embossed lettering and image. Titled "25 Years Ago" and presented at the International Civil Aeronautics Conference in Washington, D. C. on December 12 through 14, 1928, as a supplement to the documentary film "Twenty-Five Years Ago" produced specially for the conference. The first signature includes an inscription which reads: "To Dick from 'Shorty' Cramer." The front free endpaper is signed by early giants of the aviation industry including Amelia Earhart, Orville Wright, Glenn L. Martin, World War I flying ace Reed G. Landis, Parker "Shorty" Cramer, Lester J. Maitland, James E. Fechet, R. R. Blythe, John Henry Mears, Clarence D. Chamberlin, Edward P. Warner, Richard H. Depew, Jr., S. Mary Heath (Mary, Lady Heath), and others.The International Civil Aeronautics Conference was the brainchild of President Calvin Coolidge who wanted to celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the first powered flight of Orville and Wilbur Wright at Kitty Hawk in 1903. A total of 441 people attended the three day event, which included an excursion to the spot at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, where the Wright Brother's made history. Containing a total of eighteen signatures from pilots, engineers, and journalists on both the front free endpaper and the verso of the last page.
