    [Civil War-CSA]. Virginia Governor John Letcher Autographed Postal Cover Signed, "John Letcher." Postal cover, 6.75" x 3.5", circa 1860-1861. Cover is addressed to C. P. T. Moore, Esq., Pt. Pleasant, [Virginia].

    John Letcher (1813-1884) was an American lawyer, journalist, and politician. He served as a Representative in the U.S. Congress, served as Governor of Virginia (1860-1864) during the Civil War. Letcher later served in the Virginia General Assembly.

    Condition: Cover is worn, with a small tear on the right edge, some wrinkling, and several mathematical calculations in pencil on back; otherwise good.
