[Abraham Lincoln]: 1895 Alexander Hesler Autograph Letter Signed. 1 p. ALS, Chicago, Illinois, April 10, 1895, signed "Alex Hesler", written on a single 5.25" x 8.5" sheet of his personal business stationery. The noted photographer of Abraham Lincoln writes to Herbert Wells Fay, custodian of the Lincoln Monument & Tomb in Springfield. In part: "... The picture you speak of as credited to Brand was made by me. Don't think Brand ever made a neg of him. Some one got the picture of me and Brand probably made copy. It is from my original of 1857. In June 1860 I made some 8-8/10 negs. Two were burned in the Fire of 1871 - the other I gave to an artist who was working for me previous to 70.... All the prints from these negatives I have disposed of." Mounted to construction-paper page along with an engraving based on one of Hesler's portraits of Lincoln.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
