    Framed Gauche Portrait of an African Nubian Princess by Mabel J. Hutchins Circa 1932. The framed and matted handsome gauche bust portrait of an African girl. Typed label on back of frame reading: "1932/Native Girl by Mrs Mabel/J. Hutchins of Morogoro, Tanganyika Territory./The girl is of the tribe of Mhehe in the /Iringa District, Tanganyika. Her name is Binti Simba (Daughter of the Lion)" Signed by artist in lower right corner. Size: 19-inches X 14-inches [overall]. Framed in a original period walnut frame under glass. Condition: Very good to excellent with some minor fading. Backing loose and needing to be reattached.
