Very Fine, Unusual Form, Civil War or Earlier .58 Caliber Cartridge Box. Finish overall excellent with just some minor scattered light crazing and one small spot on lower right corner of front flap with a couple of small flakes. Very sound, supple complete condition. Made with enameled roller sling buckles, belt loops and sling loops. Interior about perfect with original tins. The box is not cut for a plate. Very unusual side panels with a 1" X 3 7/8", 1/8" high raised panel in the center. Very nice box and the first example of this form we've encountered.
