    Description

    Pair of Original Powder Kegs. The larger is 13" high with 10" diameter and is missing its stopper; otherwise it is fully intact. The hardwood staves are bound with 5 split willow bands top and bottom. The half-legible paper label (5-3/8" diameter) in four colors shows an armed woodlands Indian with the legend "Indian Rifle Gunpowder/Manufactured By/The Hazard Powder Company." The second and smaller keg is 8 ½" high with a 7" diameter. The staves are bound with 4 split willow bands at bottom and 5 at the top. The stopper is in place, and the paper label on the bottom is complete: "Laflin & Rand Powder Co/Orange/Rifle/New York."
