    Description

Interesting Lot of Powder Horns and Wooden Mallet. Includes: 1) 14" powder horn with wooden base and simple floral etching and the name "D. Atwood" and the date "1831". The date and flowers of the design have been accented in red. It is uncertain when the name and design were executed on the horn. Very good. 2) Ornate 12" powder horn carved with a series of decorative bands, light floral design and wooden base. Within the floral border is lightly carved the following poem: "Friend receive and take a sup / You'll find it very handy / I'm sure 'twill keep your spirits up / When filled with rum and brandy". Again, the date this carving was executed is unknown. Excellent condition. 3) Wooden mallet or drumstick. 12" in length with a leather loop at one end. Very good condition.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
