    Holsters and Pistol Belt Belonging to Famed Texas Ranger Captain Jay Banks. Two El Paso Saddlery Company Smith & Wesson Model 19 hand-tooled holsters and matching pistol belt with silver Mexican-made buckle sold with a notarized letter of provenance on Denton County Sheriff's Department letterhead and dated July 15, 2002, which reads in part: "These [sic] hand tooled leather holster rig for two model 19's [sic] Smith & Wesson were worn by Capt. Jay Banks, these are the holsters that he was wearing when he posed for the statue that is now at Love Field airport in Dallas, Texas. I don't have any idea as what he did with the two pistols." The statue referred to in the letter of authenticity is entitled "The Texas Ranger" and has been installed at the lobby of Love Field since 1960. The statue, sculpted by Waldine Amanda Tauch (1892-1986) was donated to the airport in 1961 by Mr. and Mrs. Earle Wyatt of Dallas. The statue is currently on loan to the Frontiers of Flight Museum in Dallas. Condition: Excellent.
