Zack Miller: The Personal pocket Watch of this 101 Ranch Proprietor. Zack Miller's father, Col. George Washington Miller, founded the famous spread in 1893. At 110,000 acres, it was at its peak the largest diversified farm and ranch in America. Zack and his two brothers took over the ranch on the colonel's death in 1903.

The 101 Ranch had long featured a Wild West show similar to the one pioneered by "Buffalo Bill" Cody. In 1907 the show began to tour, continuing to operate on that basis for over thirty years, closing for good after the New York World's Fair in 1939. Over the years the ranch and show produced a wide range of souvenirs which are now highly collectable, notably a variety of colorful advertising posters.

The watch offered here is a well-used Elgin with gold-filled case. The name "Zack Miller" is engraved on the side, and is quite worn, indicating many years of use. The watch itself is not running, but of course it is valued not as a pocket watch, but as a very personal memento of one of the most famous figures in the Wild West show tradition. Diameter 1.875".

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
