U.S. Coin Glass: Lot of Columbian World's Fair Glass, Circa 1893. Including: a large decanter with the obverse and reverse of Augustus Saint Gaudens' Columbian Exhibition official award medal with a full length figure of Columbus stepping ashore on the soil of the New World. The reverse design, executed by Charles Barber, features a large central cartouche with a six line commemorative inscription. Above is a globe flanked by two semi-nude females, and at bottom, a view of a sailing ship. The cartouche is flanked by torches to either side. Above the medal is a cartouche with "M & F Co", 10.5" high; a cruet with a ground glass stopper. Both the cruet and the stopper have plain Columbian Exhibition coins on the side and a pontil scar on the bottom, 5.75" high; large Columbian Exhibition bowl with plain coins, 7.75" in diameter; and five sauce bowls with gilt coins, 4" in diameter. Some loss of gilding. Slight wear to the cruet, an air bubble on the decanter, and a few inconsequential chips, else all very fine.
