    Description

Cast Iron "Speaking Dog" Mechanical Bank. Featuring the girl in the red dress with her dog, this classic bank was made by J. & E. Stevens Co., Cromwell, CT, circa: 1895. The girl's tray holds the coin. When the lever is pressed, her arm lowers and deposits the coin into the bank, as the dog opens his mouth as if speaking and wags his tail.
Condition: Original paint, but showing some overall paint loss and soiling but most specifically to the girl's face. Very good. Bottom and closure are intact.
