Automaton: Playing Violinist with composition head and hands sits atop the keywind music box. His glass eyes are accented by mohair lashes and thin white hair flows out from the top hat making him look very much like the character of Ebenezer Scrooge in the Christmas Carol. All his clothing and top hat are original, although showing minor wear. The violin and bow are carved from wood, as are his boots. When wound the music plays but the figure no longer moves. No maker's mark or date can be found on the works but judging from the fabric used to make the costume we would guess this automaton was made around 1910-1920.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
