    More Information:

Bernard Picart (1673-1733) was a French engraver known chiefly for his book illustrations. His work is characterized by a minute attention to detail. The three engravings offer here include "Phineus Delivered From the Harpies by Calais & Zethes", "Prometheus Tortured by a Vulture", and "The Giants Attempt to Scale Heaven by Piling Mountains Upon One Another". The paper has toned, especially along the edges with some modest scattered foxing, otherwise all are in good condition.
