Santell the Strongman: Imposing Three-Sheet Poster. This beautifully-colored poster measures 38.5" x 82" and is professionally mounted on linen. It is titled "Santell The Famous Hercules" and was published in 1907 by Strobridge & Company, the preeminent lithographers of circus, theatre, and political posters. It is actually three sheets laid end-to-end and probably was a billboard poster. We can find no information on Santell, but believe he was in the same mold as Eugene Sandow who in 1894, at the dawn of cinema, appeared in a short film made by Thomas Edison. There is no minor restoration at the fold lines, typical for a poster of this dimension. The presentation is quite dynamic and vibrant.
