More Information: Lot of 11 Robert Seymour Humorous Cockney Sportsman Illustrations. From An Evening's Amusement; or the Adventures of a Cockney Sportsman, no place of publication or publisher, 1846 by Richard Brinsley Peake. Illustrated by Robert Seymour. Each full-page illustration measures 5.75 inches x 9 inches. Robert Seymour was a prolific illustrator whose distinctive sketches graced Charles Dickens' Pickwick Papers among many other notable publications of the time. These caricatures were originally from a series of lithographs entitled Sketches by Seymour produced between 1834 and 1836 in which he depicts the endearing Cockney in various absurd and outlandish situations involving sporting endeavors more in the realm of the upper classes, mainly shooting and fishing. Each plate is captioned below the illustration. The paper has toned somewhat, mainly along the edges and there may be some light scattered foxing present, else they are in good condition. Seymour's outstanding illustrations once framed would make a wonderful addition to the sportsman's den, office, library or study.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
