    Lithograph of the Public Baths at Simoda  From Perry's Expedition to Japan. From Narrative of the Expedition of an American Squadron to the China Seas and Japan, Performed in the Years 1852, 1853, and 1854 Under the Command of Commodore M. C. Perry, United States Navy, by Order of the Government of the United States, Volume II, Washington: Beverly Tucker, Senate Printer, 1856. A beautiful lithograph measuring 11.25 inches x 9 inches depicting a scene from Commodore Perry's naval expedition to Japan, 1852-54. This example captures a scene at a public bath in Simoda. The paper has toned, especially at the edges but the illustration remain mostly unaffected and in good condition. Once framed these illustrations would be an excellent addition to the décor of any home, office or school.
