    Lot of 7 Antique Portraits of Various Queens of England. From The Queens of England: A Series of Portraits of Distinguished Female Sovereigns. Drawn and Engraved by Eminent Artists, With Biographical and Historical Sketches, From Agnes Strickland, New York: D. Appleton & Company, 1858. Each plate measures 7 x 10.25 inches. Each portrait is wonderfully executed and precisely engraved. Each queen is depicted in the more romantic style of the mid-19th century. Each queen's portrait is accompanied by a short biography. The plates are in very good condition with only some light toning to the edges and trivial light foxing. These portraits, once framed, would make a wonderful addition to the décor of any home, office, school, or business. This lot includes portraits of Eleanor of Provence, Isabella of Angouleme, Joanna of Novarre, Catherine of Arragon, Anne Boleyn, Eleanor of Castile, and Margaret of Anjou.
