    Description

Lot of 7 Antique Photographic Portraits of English Men of Mark. From Men of Mark: A Gallery of Contemporary Portraits of Men Distinguished in the Senate, the Church, in Science, Literature, and Art, the Army, Navy, Law, Medicine, etc. with biographical sketches by Thompson Cooper, photographed from life by Lock and Whitfield, London: Sampson Low, Marston, Searle, and Rivington, 1876. Each of the plates measure 8.25 x 11 inches. Each oval photographic portrait is mounted to a printed page and is accompanied by a single page biographical sketch. The backing sheets have light areas of scattered foxing but the portraits are sharp and in beautiful condition. Their uniform size and attractiveness would make them ideal candidates for framing to enhance the décor of any home, office, business or school. Portraits include the Duke of Abercorn, the Reverend F. W. Farrar, Lord George Hamilton, Lord Selborne, the Right Honorable Sir Bartle Frere, Sir Charles Hall, and the Bishop of Winchester.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
