Lot of 10 National Gallery Portraits of Eminent Americans. From the National Portrait Gallery of Eminent Americans: Including Orators, Statesmen, Naval and Military Heroes, Jurists, Authors, etc. etc., From the Original Full Length Paintings by Alonzo Chappel. With Biographical and Historical Narratives by Evert A. Duyckinck, in two volumes, New York: Johnson, Fry & Company, [1862]. Each engraved plate measures 8 x 11 inches. The paper has toned a bit in the white margins; otherwise each portrait is in very good condition. Each plate is exquisitely detailed and has a facsimile signature of the subject at the bottom of the portrait. Once framed and matted these lovely portraits would enhance any home, office, school or business. Included are studies of Fisher Ames, Joshua Barney, Benjamin Lincoln, Israel Putnam, Henry Lee, Henry Laurens, Horatio Gates, Philip Schuyler, Daniel Morgan, and Anthony Wayne.Shipping, Taxes, Terms and Bidding
