    Group of Five Double Page Copper Plate Engraved Illustrations of Horse Bridles Circa 1678. Double-page copper plate engraving measuring 13 inches x 15 inches. Extracted from Simon Winter von Adlersflügel's Hippiater Expertus Seu Medicina Equorum Absolutissima, published in Nuremberg, 1678.

    More Information:

    Engraver unknown, possibly Cornelius Nicolas Schurtz. Georg Simon Winter von Adlersflügel was a German horseman and veterinarian who authored many books on the care and training of horses. These line engravings feature various styles of bridles, circa 1678. The pages have toned a bit with the occasional light scattered foxing otherwise the illustrations are in very good condition.
